Brooke Mackintosh was born the first of three children in Salt Lake City, Utah. Raised by talented and loving parents in a world built on love, family, religion and the black and white standards surrounding it all. The same strict standards which threatened her creativity and inevitably forced her to step out of the boundaries she was raised to believe in, in order to pursue her true calling, music.
A natural born singer, but without the means of professional training, her father, (a singer and talented musician himself,) coached her and handed down his love for music. At the age of five, she was already playing the piano by ear and composing her first songs. Performing in multiple choirs helped her begin making waves in her early teens as a solo singer, performing for various contests, talent shows and ceremonies and when her father decided to teach her to pick a guitar at age fifteen, she instantly became a songwriter.
After reaching the decision to leave everything she knew behind in late 2005, she was inspired to pack what she could fit into her car (including her dog, cat, and two guitars) and headed to San Diego, where they all shared a small trailer while she wrote songs and broke into the local music scene under her nickname "Brooklyn."
After hearing a Kitsch & Sync Production in Spring of 2006, Brooke Mackintosh was introduced by her friend and acoustic artist, Barbara Nesbitt, to Sven-Erik Seaholm, with whom she recorded and released her first album "Blue Skies Await" in 2007.
Upon their first meeting, a rich friendship emerged and in late 2008, Mackintosh was invited to join Seaholm’s band, The Wild Truth.
With frequent rehearsals, recording sessions and sharing new songs, The Wild Truth pulled the two of them together musically in a way they'd never known.
